sirfergy, if you can send me the program you used to dump the BIOS I will do it with my E1505 so you guys have both BIOS's. Let me know, I'm always glad to help in this endeavor.

hi there,
so here in switzerlan i was at the dell tec tour. i have spoken with an tec-salesman. here is what he said:

it is possible to upgrade. the reson why the insp6000 did not recon the x1400 is the hypermemory. the 128 mb x300 has dedicated ram.. . so all you must do is: dumb both bios and find the adress space where the hypermem info is and extend (copy) the address area in to the insp6000 bios, btw merge the infos.. and it run.. so thats the info.. i hope that is a chalange for u .. if some one did it.. please let us know i need the bios tooo

If this works, it'll be great! If I had the knowledge, I'd jump on it, but I have no idea.. just that if it's possible, then, that'll be awesome. So, whoever does this, please let me know. Thank you.

Can't you just grab a e1505 bios from Dell.com and extract it, or do you have to physically dump the bios from the same laptop model?
i think it's necesarry to have a full dump because on de dell site there is only an update wich changes a few things but not replaces the entire bios
