Leo_S84,

We've posted a link a few pages back. It's a very simple process.

Alright, i followed:

Now i have the BAK file, anyone want it?

I registered just to say that this is certianly awsome and I hope you guys can do it.

[EDIT] Now that I think about it. If something happens to go wrong would you be able to replace the Bios chip? or is it sodered on? I know in desktops you just have to remove and replace.
in notebooks it's soldered into place, for security reasons (somebody stealing it and just chaging the bios chip to make the laptop work).

Makes sense

one last thing, how diffrent are the motherboard mounts for both notbooks? I mean if the video cards are the same would that mean the motherboard is physically the same? I'm just asking because though it would be a pain I wouldn't mind a duo chip and an easy X1400 upgrade from someones broken I6400.

What both notebooks are you talking about 6000 and 6400? The video cards arent the same. These guys are trying to "hack" their way into making the x1400 work in a 6000

Right, the 6000 to the 6400. Now What I meant was if the video cards were the same as in shape/form factor/mounting. not in model. would that also mean that the motherboard could possiably have the same mounting scheme and fit right in the 6000D?

hope that makes more sense.

I dont think it would.

Things on the back like USB ports and the power connector are in different places.
