isn't there a way to make a dump to a .rom file?

anyone think that replacing my 1.6pm with a 2.0pm would allow me to bump up my res from 1024 to 1280 while keeping the same rates? i dont think this x1400 business is going down anymore and id like to boost the res a lil bit for a monitor im trying to get... can anyone with a 2pm and 128mb x300 comment on the stress test on that resolution? would be very appreciated. thx.

nope, probably lose about 15-20% performance

depending on the game,

the cpu is never the bottleneck in these machines as far as i have seen

I doubt it'll fit/work.
anyone have pics of a 7 series next to a x300? if it physically fits, i think it would work... if im correct, that laptop uses the same mobo or at least a PM chipset so it would be compatible..

k, i saw pics of the mxm 7800 gtx and it looks similar in shape and (hopefully) size as the x1400.. using the guide on the link posted above, anyone think this would be possible? are there any tech heads on this forum that would know this type of stuff?
damn im thinking of getting a PM 780es and pairing it with a 7800gtx.. id toss my old xp sticker and replace it with a nice shiny chrome nvidia 7800 sticker and this thing would be future proof at least until vista comes out and dx10 is fully supported.. if only this were possible.. sigh..

cmon i know somebody with a 6000 out there would like to run games at native 1680 with a 15.4" laptop..

come on guys, if you're going to post, read the thread first so you know what's been covered.
i saw the thread but looked at some details, for example the power consumtion is way higher than that of the x300 so you would also need to buy the 90 watt adapter the heat is huge compaired to the x300 so you would need to remoddel the heatsink so it fits within this chassis

it's NOT going to fit, so i don't know why people think it would.

Let's get back on the topic: Is the modified BIOS for our dear I6kD ready?

It's funny because that's the same place I got the idea that I could change my pos x300 for a 7800gtx...lol...Nope, It's not possiable. I my self have asked the question several times. The form factor is totaly different. It is close to impossiable to fit an x600, 6800, 7800 into the i6000. I love my i6000...The display...The processor...The size and shape...EVERYTHING BUT THE GRAPHICS CARD!!!!!!!!!!
When searching for 7800 mxm, I found this....looks kinda funny
