I also need one for an AR5001X+ Hard to find drivers, never understood why.

Best wifi cards out there, period.

Gigabyte has some pretty new ones, driver date Nov 05. Use the manual install from device manager to install them with the Atheros Client utility installed from the package already linked. Thanks to onguarde for pointing them out.

Onguarde also said to change the inf for the driver so that your card appears as a Atheros 5006XS no an X. The change is a string near the bottom of the inf file.

At the expense of sounding thick, which file exactky do i modify? And which specific line?

I personally use the 5.3.0.35 from the lizzi ftp. I have a really old client utility but meh, it works.

Sorry to bring up an older post but I thought it would be better than creating a new one...

Thank You for the driver download links! I had been searching for them a little bit ago.

I see in the .ini a list towards the bottom that shows the AR5006XS but mine still lists it as a AR5006X in the driver menu.

Go into the Driver Folder. Find the Operating System that you are installing it to and select that folder. Open the inf. Torwards the end you should see a line that looks like this:
