It is indeed unfortunate.. maybe we could arrange a rally outside his house and call for the reunion of Tony and his computer.

It almost brings a tear to my eye, recalling all of the great tweaked drivers he's given us in the past. all the awesome memories of finding that new set with superior IQ and performance, or with unparalleled benchmark scores..

It will be a painful wait...

thank you for the great drivers up to this point, but I know you'll be back in time.

We all wish you the best geforcetony and look forward to your return, whenever it may be.

WOW!! 18-19yrs old??? That kids a prodigy! I guess his father was a lil intimidated by his genius child son!!

If Tony ever emerges, he needs to give us his phone number so we can call his dad, or his Dad's E-mail so we can vouch for him a bit. Just think right now, Tony is probably doing homework or reading a book, it's sad really, wasting time like that.

Haha. Thanks a bunch guys. But, I did find a way to get internet access, not only from my friends computer, but my cell phone, LOL. Right now I'm on my friend's computer, heh.

Anyways, yes the computers are both mine. The desktop (AMD64 3700 939, 6800GT AGP) I built over a year ago with the job I had creating the website for the company my dad works for, LOL. The laptop was given to me a year ago as a graduation\birthday gift from my grandma.

And yes, I'm 18 years old. I live at home, have no girlfriend, no job (but working hard on it) and I'm depressed as hell, LOL.

Secret laptop fund to GFT!? LOL. Well, if anyone cares to donate for whatever reason, my PayPal is gftony@tweaksrus.com. But, yeah, if ya wanna donate to the GFT, you may, and I won't try to stop you. And to anyone that does decide to donate, thank you in advance .

Hopefully I'll be back soon. Gotta get my internet fix somehow , LOL.

His only reasons were because I "need to make some changes"... Well, OK? LOL. My life is crumbling in front of me right now, and he tells me I need to make some changes? Well thank you for stating the obvious Moses, LOL. Here's your sign... It's not as if I don't go out or anything, because I do, quite a bit, and yes I do see some sun (though it's kinda hard NOT too in Arizona, LOL). I've had to deal with a tremendous amount of pain and heartbreak over the past year too. My parents got divorced, my mom lied to me, stole from me, and essentially stabbed me in the back, I had some problems at the end of High School, I didn't get into college when I wanted to, I lost numerous jobs, my girlfriend cheated on me and told me to piss off, my mom tried to kill herself, my credit\debit card info was stolen and used, my dad and uncle basically pulverized each other too, AND my dad's threatening to kick me out...

So yeah... I'm barely hangin in there right now, but I'm tryin. I hope things begin to change soon. I kinda need them to.

Tony why don't you just Waltz into some random computer shop and get a job lol, you definetly have the talent and capacity to work in a place like that. I don't get it, at 18 years old, your dad "takes away" your computers that YOU paid for..... Time to find a cheap 1 1/2 apartment and at least a part time job.
You could always start charging 5$ for your drivers. i'm sure everyone would be willing to pay, and if you told your dad that your amasing at makign these drivers and you have a huge clientel that is willing to pay you 5$ for each one, then maybe he'l chnage his mind, if not say "give me 2 weeks, if theres no money, you can take the computers back"

Tony-

I use your drivers and if your doing this at 18 already, you are gifted - thats for damned sure. If you hunt around and find a good entry level job into the career you want, that will open doors for your future. Good luck!

As for the rest of you - if his father took away his computer rights - so be it. That is his right as a father to do. Whether tony owns them or not. He is living under his roof and he must abide by his rules. It sucks, I know but that is how parent/child relationships work. Let him ride it out and things should return to normalcy in the near future. Secretly trying to get him a computer or anything else would only make the problem worse.

Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for him and it sucks big time. However, living at home, no job, no life, no nothing other than being on the computer I can see where his dad wants him to make a change for the better.

Again, to you Tony and others - I mean no disrespect. He is doing what he things will help make his life better. It sucks for us, but we can't be upset because that would be greedy. Tony has to look out for #1 before anything else.

Good luck Tony!

Well, I have tried to waltz into a computer store and get a job, but I can't. Why? The employers don't like the lack of experience that I have, but no one will give me a job because of it. It's the whole Catch-22 thing again, LOL. I had a job at a place here in Phoenix called Arrow Electronics building computers for a whole DAY AND A HALF. That's what I'm talking about. Sure, I was a webmaster for a year, but it's not enough. Yes, I am A+ Certified, but that's also not enough. I'm tryin to get a job at Staples right now, and hopefully that'll work out, LOL. The job market here in Phoenix is really fierce right now and that ends up hurting me, LOL.

My dad knows about the drivers, as I whipped up a set or 2 for him and his slow-ass computer (Celeron 2.5GHz, FX5700U). To be honest, however, I just don't think people would PAY for drivers. Sure, SOME would, but the majority wouldn't. I also don't RUN TweaksRUs so I don't have a say in that anyways. I'm merely a Mod there, LOL.

If anyone wants or needs a website done though, gimme a call , LOL. That would get my computers back for DAMN sure, hehe.

Tony,

Please explain how an 18 year old keeps his/her sanity after all that you have been through.

Have you tried applying at Nvidia or ATI? It's a long shot, but I think somebody there might give you a chance. Given that they need programmers like you, you'd be surprised at what a random shot in the dark can do...

Good luck.

i need to teach u the tornado kick. u will only need to administer it once on your father but he will get the picture. and then we will get the drivers.

You're not going to get a good job (before you're 30) unless you go to college. That's the sad fact.

Maybe you ARE spending too much time on your computer, making freebies to give away. That's a hobby, not a career plan.

If you didn't get into the college you wanted, it's not a big deal. Go to local community college and transfer to state. At 18-19 it really is your best bet.

Simple. I'm the GFT. 'Nuff said ...

I am suprised that someone who is a manager for a programming firm hasn't seen what you've done here and read this post and given you are call and offered you a job. It's obvious you have experience and a deep understanding of computers.

At least I know I would

The ability to hack out a few lines of code is not going to enable you to be hired as a software engineer.

I'm just suggesting that this kid needs to go to college. He'll do so much better.

true but it does show the basic talents needed, that with the proper grooming and some education can grow into a great skillset for a job in the computer industry. i would second those here saying get yourself into college eveing if it isnt the one you really want, and at least get a start on the education.

its a transition time man, its a big thing but honestly getting out and going to college and even moving out into the dorms there will be a great experience and will help immensely in terms of what you want to do.

as for if you are depressed. in a serious way beyond the regular life highs and lows that everyone gets i would suggest honestly seeing someone who is a professional. depression is a serious issue and it can really be a struggle but sometimes it really helps to talk to someone.

Yeah depression sucks as I was depressed for 4 or 5 years. I never got medical help as it was not severe.
