Apologies if this has already been brought up, but does anyone have experience with the brand Acoustic Research? If anyone could fill me in on brand quality, sound deliverance, etc. it'd be much appreciated.

Also, any cautions with wireless headphones in general? I'm thinking of replacing my MDR's soon and not having to deal with a 10 ft wire would be nice.

Anyone?

Guess not...

I know of their main-line floor and bookshelf speakers, not their headphones. Sorry.

the logitech bluetooth wireless headphones work great. I got the MP3 ones from ebay for $36 and then also got the PC version from buy.com for $40. The quality is awesome. They both come with dongles for use except the MP3 one uses the 3.5mm line jack while the PC one uses a usb port. The PC one has a range of up to 165ft but I haven't been able to test that range because I live in a dorm with lots of walls and wireless interference, and it also comes with back and forward track buttons.

Wearing the headphones for several hours seems to bother me and sometimes hurt my ears, but maybe that's because I wear glasses and the headphones press onto them. Another gripe is since this is behind the neck style I can't lay down on my bed and listen to music at the same time. There have also been reports of earlier models breaking in half wear the headband is but mine have faired well so far.

Overall I recommend them. There is also a white Ipod specific version.

Thanks dam, and np galahad. I'll probably pick some up sometime in the future and give them a good stress test. If they don't measure up I can just return 'em.

Hi everybody. I've read many pages of this thread, and learned a lot of things I had no ideia headphones could offer. Since I'm on this subject, I would appreciate if one of you pros could give me some suggestions:

I'm searching for 5.1 headphones with good sound quality. Their main function will be basicly playing. I don't care about looks, size, confort (I don't play for continuous periods of time); just searching for sound quality, and effective 5.1 technology.

By the way, comparing to regular 5.1 speaker systems, how well do 5.1 headphones perform? Do you really have that spatial feeling as the first ones?
Regarding wireless 5.1 headphones, do you think it would be wise to wait for their price to drop, or purchasing wired ones would still be a good deal? I kind of have a problem with wires, hence my question.

Thank you in advance! Have a beer and put it on my tab

What would be the best headphones for under 75 $? I would just use them for listening to music, plugging them into my PC and watching trailers + movies and stuff so people don't have to listen, ect. Thx in advance!

God no, the siberias are terrible. They break in like 1 month. Plus they aren't even that great for music.

Best headphones for the money in my opinion for your uses would be the Grado SR-60: http://www.headphone.com/guide/by-ma...rado-sr-60.php - These cans are great for music listening. Probably the best for your money. The only downside I can see is that some people think they are ugly, and they are not the most comfortable headphones ever.

Other good options:
Beyerdynamic DT 231: http://www.headphone.com/products/he...mic-dt-231.php

Sennheiser DJ's HD212Pro: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106324 - I have these ones. Great bass, and good overall cans.

Sennheiser EH350: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826159421

Sennheiser HD435: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106020

I would consider all of these better than the icemats.

Thx pyro! What are some really comfortable but good headphones? I'm more worried like about comfortness because sometimes I just like to lay back and try to fall asleep (I never do lol) but I always have my headphones on and stuff. I need them to be really comfortable. Are there any headphones like that? Thx in advance!

Out of the ones I listed, the Sennheiser 435's are probably the most comfortable. If you are worried about comfort, then the Siberia Icemat's might serve you well then, because they are pretty comfortable. I don't like the Icemat's because:

1. The joints are really flimsy, thus they break easily, even when you take decent care of them.

2. I don't like how they sound.

If you really want some headphones to lay back in, I would reccommend some sort of earbud type of headphones. But that's because I don't think it is comfortable to laydown with full sized headphones. A couple of good earbuds that you could afford are:

V-Moda Bass-Freqs: http://www.v-moda.com/our%20world/ne...%20Launch.aspx

Sennheiser CX300: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106026

Thx Pyro so so much! I'm not much of an earbud guy so I'll go with the Sennheiser 435's!! I have a Senn Heiser DSP 500 Headset and its really comfortable, thx!

What does anyone think of the Sennheiser HD555's ?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106392

Currently OoS @ newegg right now but they are $99.99 after MIR. I was thinking of getting the HD595's for MP3 player usage and computer usage, but the price tag of $300 retail scares me.
