if you reformatted you will need the drivers off Dells site.

If I remember correctly, look underneath the chipset drivers, and select the RICOH driver listed there. That's what I did when I installed a clean copy of XP on my E1505, and the reader seems to function perfectly, at least with the 2 SD cards I have.

Edit: Try this LINK. If that doesn't work, the download is for Ricoh R5C832, filename R105921.EXE.

I just went through the problem solution thing on the Dell site...REdownloaded the drivers, nothings working...Do you think it could be possibly I have a faulty media card reader?? Nothing is working to get my media card recognized!!! this is frustrating

i had a similar problem with the sony memorystick until i realized that the reader will only recognize the card if i push the card as far as it can go in the slot and hold it there.

lol nope that didn't work either, I forgot to mention on last night's post...I went through my device manager as the Dell Problem/Solution guide told me and I never saw the device that said SD on it...all of the others were there under IDE/ATA/ATAPI controlllers. Even after downloading the Ricoh chipset driver, could it be possible that I downloaded a driver that is "overriding" the SD card? I have 3 other devices that say Ricoh in that tree of the device manager.
