Just came out as a new model at my local all things computer depot... I can't seem to find any information about it from the Acer official website (which is IMO poorly done in comparisson to most competitor sites)... Either way, I'm somewhat new to the forums, and I'm considering this laptop for purchase...
Can I get a lowdown on this system in particular, and with Acer in general... There's somewhat of a stigma attached to Acer products as being cheap... Obviously Acer does have some products in it's lineup which are far from cheap... but the 7104 is a cheap model...
Thumbs up for this unit having a 17" display... Thumbs down for the GMA900... Not surprising for the cost though, and I guess WiFi is becoming a standard these days... Main target usage is for multimedia and schoolwork.
Finally, how do the Celeron M's compare to the Turion64's? Power consumption/Performance... Is it simply the M is better for power, while the Turion is more of a performer? Not that any of this really matters when you have a 17" screen...
The other model I'm considering is the 5003WLMi... Smaller screen, better performing... bit cheaper...
Tell me honestly though what you guys think of Acer... I know things might be a bit biased on this end, I wouldn't mind holding out a few extra months and shell out the cash for an Alienware system... Not that a mobile gaming platform really appeals to me, I have a pretty decent gaming rig at home... but just for the pimp factor...
