Arghh -- How to get a chaper thinkpad? please help guys :(

Is it possible to jump some loops and get a Thinkpad for cheaper? Anyone have any connections ?

I've had my eye on Thinkpads for awhile now but I just can't seem to afford a decent one for my needs. I'd like a setup that I can play games (Call of Duty 2, Half-Life2, etc) at decent settings, nothing spectacular. I ordered the Dell below but I don't know much about Dells... I've always been an IBM guy. please please please please help me out, point me in the right direction, advice, anything...i'm lost!!

I ordered a Dell E1505:
-Intel Duo @ 1.86GHz
-256MB Radeon X1400 Hypermemory (WOOHOO?!?)
-15.4" UltraSharp w/ Truelife widescreen SXGA+
-60GB HardDrive @ 7200rpm
-1GB Memory

Here are a few ways.

Find a student. Students in college get large discounts off of thinkpads.

Use the Visa discount. Saves like 10%

Check with Bill at thinkpads.com in the forum area. He can buy at a discount and passes on the savings.

that dell will not be a spectacular gamer to say the least. then again i should keep my mouth shut because my T23 was a hand-me-down...of sorts

So how exactly does this work...you contact him, and he just tries to get you a discount? Or does he buy it himself and sell it to whoever is interested?

Also, how does the 10% Visa discount work?

Go to his website: forum.thinkpads.com and register inside there and show him who introduced you there and get yourself faster activated and PM him and ask him how to get and also bargain from him.
