The X700 is far superior to the 7300.

THe 7300 Blows the x700 away I personaly have used both and the x700 is a POS comparef to the 7300.

Are you sure? What laptop did you have which had the x700? Maybe it was heavily underclocked?

The x700 was in an Acer Ferrari 4000. My statement is based of my experiance with both cards. Others may see things differant and have differant results.

Can't help you there. They are all Intel and I only use AMD so another member will have to help you. But I would get the one with a 7300 but its still an Intel.

What the f++k is up with Asus???

Platform: Intel Centrino Duo
CPU: Intel Core Duo Processor T2500
Chipset: Intel 945PM
WLAN: Intel 3945ABG
LCD Screen: Colour Shine Glare Type 15" SXGA + (1400 x 1050)
Graphics: nVIDIA GeForce 7400/ 512MB Turbocache
HDD: 120GB
ODD: DVD 9.5" Super-Multi Double Layer
RAM: 1GB DDRII – 667 MHz
OS: Windows XP Professional

a 7400 for 2800 euros? you got to be kidding me

thats the worst deal ever and even slower than the 1year old ferrari 4005
post #11 of 54
Well, it DOES have a fast CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 120 GB HDD, and is one of the lightest 15" systems (if not the lightest and thinnest) on the market.
I guess you have to factor in the engineering into the cost too... not just the components.

Not sure about the 7400 but the 7300 out preforms the card in the Ferrari 4000 so I am sure the 7400 will.

I am not sure where you gather your info... a 4005 scores ~2800k - ~3000k in 3dmark 2005..

the 7400 barely reaches 2000k.. with a core duo!

I have sude both the X700 and the 7300 and the 7300 perfoms much better in game than the x700

Core Duo has nothing to do with 3DMark score.

7400 is just fine for a slim notebook if not looking for a desktop replacement, Asus must's known that a faster graphics card will drain more battery and the temperature will cause fan run noise:

Ok dude beleave what you wnat. I am speaking form experiance. Since I have owned a x700 and now own a 7300 I should know what they can do. The x700 can't even keep up with my 5700 which is about 4 years old or so. But go ahead and buy a x700 if you think its all high and mighty. I am just telling the perosn that ask my experiance with the cards. And yes i always use the latest drivers so its not I was using a Crappy driver for the x700 and thats why it did not preform good also you should know if you use the Driver that ASUS sends you on the CD or the one on there site for the 7300 it will suck. Use the latest drivers.

This is wrong, sorry. The x700 outperformes the 7300 by far. Perhaps you should try actually formally testing them with 3dmark05.
