*OFFICIAL*: Dell XPS M1710 *Pictures*! *RELEASED TOMORROW!* - Page 10

Holy, thats WOW, I saw the pics before, but wow, nice job, you just OWNED Dell, major!

"Choose your brushed metal accent armor – Metallic Black or Special Edition Formula Red – set your XPS lighting colors and prepare to be the envy of all your friends."

Does that mean what I think it means?

EDIT: Haha, it says XPS in the touchpad, I give it a week to scratch off.

"The XPS M1710 features up to 4GB of dual-channel memory and up to 120GB of SATA storage capacity". 4 GB RAM ?! WOW!!!

I'm sorry but that thing looks awesome!! Screw the M170!

Quick question on ordering it tomorrow. How much of a difference will I see between the two video cards (Gs v GTX). If I had to choose between the 2.16 processor and the upgraded card, which should I choose?

It looks way better here on the Dell site. I can sell this.....

From what I can tell the touchpad "IS" backlit as well as the xps logo by the hinges......
Can you buy it?
Yep, I just found a place on dells webpage for the new xps. And it says the touchpad is red backlit. It is NOT capable of changing colors though.

Just wondering, how many people dropped their M170's on the floor just now and broke the back LCD cover? Ahh well, better order the black or red one...

i am wondering if the LCD is different than the current one? it says something about it on the m1710 page...just wondering if any of you ppl would know ?
I like it more gradually. Still sad its not at least a black keyboard, but again what's inside that counts.

Speaking of which I don't see ANY mention of Audigy in that system, not even a tiny hint of Audigy, let alone Audigy 2.

Along the earlier topic is there any reason vendors dont ship dual expresscard capable machines? When you think about it sound is like an instant "yes" if it comes in an expresscard, and you might want that plus EVDO, ESATA, or say TV tuner (which of course you'd want the good sound to go with it). Seems to me, that while we are at a bit of a lack of cards just now, very soon you'll be wishing you had more than one slot! Is this possible?

Now I have to figure out all the options I want on it and get my order in!

A better improved LCD maybe with faster response would be GODLY.
A little side note: anyone notice the “Designed for Windows ® Vista” logo on the M1710 page

Which then takes you to a Dell Windows Vista page

(On the system it shows a windows xp badge however)

mmm... new system

Still no eSATA interface, and strange it doesn't mention ExpressCard in the I/O (nevermind, it's in the user manual).

I mean, damn - for 3500 bucks, on a DELL laptop, there should be eSATA.
