Just received Hypersonic Aviator NX6... Few problems

I just received my aviator NX6.. a bit before the ship time was supposed to be (was supposed to be Feb 6). The problems are as follows.. #1 the built in wireless card will not work. I can get an IP from my router, but I cannot load a webpage completely.. It seems to hang because if I ping my router it will maybe ping it once and time out the rest of the 4 times. So I pop in my old linksys wireless PC card and bam its up and running in under a minute.. So I have no idea whats wrong with this..
#2, After looking through my received software, I did NOT get a personalized recovery disk as promised.. this is a bit of a problem.
#3, I called their tech support at 6:15 PM trying to get this wireless card problem resolved... they were closed. They are supposed to be open until 7pm.

Overall I guess I am pretty happy with the system.. It just seems that my order was a rushed one...

Anyone have any comments?

---edit---
update, also ordered norton antivirus... supposed to be installed and configured, they just threw the cd in the case. I had to install and configure it.

Still have not recieved mine

I have been waiting almost 7 weeks. I ordered the same model on Dec. 16th and still do not have it. The thing was supposed to ship on Jan. 16th.

Did you have yours painted?

My delay is due to a "scratch" in the paint… allegedly due to a botched attempt at placing the laptop in a box for shipping. I am told they have to replace the whole panel, and of course they had to order it.

Hypersonic charges way more for systems that other retailers sell for less. I had two main reasons for deciding on HS:

1)Cool paint.
2)Level of quality that goes into the build. Burn in, recovery DVD, software is installed, etc.

Your post would not seem to meet my expectations for number 2.
And my post makes we wonder if I was insane for even wanting number 1.

I posted a more detailed version of my problems on reseller ratings if interested. http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2081.html

Hmmm, weird. I have the NX6 (using it now in fact) and haven't had any problems at all (okay, minor ATI driver issue but the Omega 4.1's work perfectly).

They included the full system recovery DVD (Norton Ghosted image actually) and all apps (including Norton Anti-Virus) were pre-installed. They even installed all XP service packs and critical updates. Shipping was prompt too, 11 days after I placed the order. I did not get a custom paint job though.

The only thing missing from my order was an additional power supply, which they told me was on backorder and would ship in about a week or so.

Just an fyi though - you do know they have a 24/7 support line don't you?

So far, I'd have to say I'm very impressed with Hypersonic. The NX6 rocks hard

their 24/7 support line is outsourced... probably somewhere in india.. and thats not going to help me
im sure my card is defective
they cant get my dvd for recovery
and they wont of installed my norton previously..

Also, I did not get mine painted.. It just seems like they missed a step somewhere in mine and accidently shipped it out.

We will see on monday when they respond...
I want all 3 of these problems I had fixed somehow..
I mean of course I could install norton by myself.. its just the principle of the thing.. I wouldnt even of said anything if it werent for the other 2 problems

You're using it correctly, right? In Windows XP, you double-click the taskbar icon and click Advanced to select the network to use. You sometimes, AFAIR, have to click a checkbox saying you don't mind using an insecure network.

You realize they're in New York, right? Eastern Standard Time. I don't know where you are, but at 6:15 PST it would be 9:15 EST.

well, hypersonic customer service just sent me an email... which was not in reply to my 3 emails to support (i discovered everything seperately, thus 3 emails).... it was in response to the little customer service link they placed on my desktop for a survey to fill out. he said he would personally take care of my wifi problem (i had not mentioned anything about dvd and norton cause i had no yet realized it)... will keep everyone posted

When i got mine right before xmas, I had to send it back because it kept doing the random reboot. Got it back after bout a week and the guy said he didn't do anyhting to fix it but its magically ok now. I'm not complaining but it was a pain dealing with their customer service. I have to contact them again now because they shipped me the wrong DVD writer. Anyways seeing if u guys have lock up problems. Mine seems to lock up when I run Power DVD and basically anything that uses up a semi-sizeable chunk of memory i.e. IE and AIM. Overall I like the laptop but it has been somewhat of a pain in the rear.

the seven week wait is up!

I got a call last Monday from Meghan @ hypersonic. She apologized for the miscommunication that lead to me being told my laptop would go out Friday. She told me that I would have it by Wensday at the latest. She also refunded the shipping fees I had already paid and said it would be shipped overnight.

Tuesaday afternoon rolled around and I started to get nervous... However Meghan kept her word and the laptop was at my door in record time! Meghan even pitched in a matching intellimouse for all the trouble with my order.

So far the laptop is running great. The paint is amazing! Very high quality.. no orange peel, just as smooth and reflective as could be.

I will post some pics soon.
