Would you set up your system with 2 160gig 133 7k hard drives, one having the OS on it and the other for capture or would you:

1 80 gig 133 7k hard drive for OS and 2 160 gig 133 7k hard drives striped

which would be faster with video capture and editing?

There may be some 80GB 7200 RPM drives but can't really remember for Laptops. But 160 GB 7200 RPM are at least 18 month away if not longer.

I would use 2 60 GB 7200 RPM HDD's. The first one with OS with 2 partitions. Enough room for the OS and all major files, and use the second partition for saving video. The second drive can be all video and if you need a 3rd drive then also get another 7200 RPM drive so you will not lose as many frames when recording. You will need a 8887/8890 if you plan on using 3 drives.
