9750 Bios Update - Page 2

975BV105.iso

Here were my instructions, which I followed and everything went fine. It flashed an early 06 date, I may ask for 107...

"Unzip the file to .iso then use Nero select BURN IMAGE TO DISC, and change the cd-rom drive as bootable in the BIOS, so it can boot up from the drive , before flash the BIOS make sure the unit is using the ac power to do the BIOS update, After update the BIOS need load the setup default in the BIOS under EXIT options.[David Liu] after laod the bios setup default check the raid setting need change to Disable..."

The last bit about the raid setting, where is the optioin to disable this?

My original issue to sager was long boot times. the description being that just before my F2 option comes up it flashes a raid status, I believe this is what he is refering to and recommending I disable. Will this help with the long windows booting?

Thanks,
AKsurfer

To Flash or not to Flash

So here is the BIG question. Guys do you see any noticible difference in performance after the flash?

I haven't noticed any difference in performance. I upgraded because it mentioned some changes to the way fans were handled. That being said, I haven't noticed any change there either.

The only difference I've noticed in the past couple of weeks is that now when I disable the touchpad (fn-F10) I get a small beep. I wish this were a bios option or a permanent toggle (as opposed to once per reboot).

thefrawg!! Thanks for telling me that Fn-F10 turned off the touchpad! I had been wondering that for a long while...

I get no beep when I disable it. I got the lastest BIOS when I had some support questions dealing with my video card overheating. Didn't see any noticable changes with the BIOS. It probably handles the 7900 GTX better I would guess- new video BIOS too perhaps?
