3880 vs. 5320

I'm most likely going to betting one of these two laptops.

However I can't decide which one I like better.

I really like the Battery Life of the 3880. I also like the glossy screen option but thats only with 1280x800 so I'm not sure if it's worth the lower resolution.

The extra 128MB of graphics memory on the 5320 looks nice though. And I've always preferred ATI to NVidia.

Anybody have any suggestions? I think the battery life is the real big thing for me.

I'll be using it for some games and just other basic college stuff.

Thanks

If battery life is that important, go with the 3880 and a 12 cell battery.

The x700 is a more powerful video card (but not by too much) and the 256mb of video RAM doesnt make much of a difference. The 6600 and x700 arent powerful enough to use all of it efficiently. Either one will perform just about the same.

I'd go with the 3880-C. The screen looks much nicer than the one on my 3880-V. No clue, as to why they don't offer the high res, glossy....

I was reading up on glossy vs. Matte screens and it seemed to all boil down to what laptop you had. There were different quality Matte screens and glossy screens.

So, that being said, does anyone own a 3880 with a glossy screen? Mainly I'm curious as to how it does out in the sun?

Thanks

3880, you also may want to look at the asus z70 or uniwill 259eIIn or Asus w3j with the x1600 card

The 5320 has a beautiful screen in my opinon. Better than most glossy screens I've seen.

I bought a nushield for my 3880 to give it the glossy look. I can't really see in the sun with it so I take it off...Worked from 3 to 6 out in the sun today on battery with still some juice to spare...

So the consensus is when working out in the sun the glossy screen probably isn't even gonna be useable?

doggie96 - I want the W3J, it's just a little out of my price range

then wait for the asus a8jm coming out in may, its the configurable version of the w3j with a go 7600 instead of x1600
