9750's *STILL* on backorder?!?!?!

Anyone else with a 9750 on order in the last few weeks actually get theirs yet?

Or any kind of update from their Sager reseller as to what the deal is?

I ordered mine from PCT last month (order was recieved by Sager on the 31'st) and still no 9750.

I had been assured that the parts that were on backorder (the actual chasis for the 9750) were back in at Sager and that they were going to process and ship all orders on Thrs and Fri.

I upgraded my shipping based on that info to overnight for no good on the hope that it was correct info because I was going to have a little free time to work on it this weekend and get it ready for work on monday.

Obviously it didn't show up and the status of the order says still building.

So what has everybody else heard?

I haven't heard anything. But I just ordered mine last week.
I really don't know other than my payment cleared and it is in building stage.
I emailed them today so maybe I will find out more info on Monday.

another day goes by.....

well another day goes by and still no account updates or emails clarifying the situation.

Somebody else *has* to have ordered a 9750 recently? What are you hearing about backorder status?

This is really getting sad

I received mine on April 7th from Powernotebooks.

things that make you go hmmmm...

interesting. When did you put your order in?
I placed my order with PCT for a customized version of the 9750-V on April 8th. When I got home today, there was a first delivery attempt notice on my door from UPS -- the package was from Sager. Anyway, it would seem my 9750 was built and shipped in 10 days.

That is a good sign. Did you ever get a "shipping" notice via email? Or was your status updated on the website to shipping?
Also, what shipping method did you use?

Just wondering so we can project when ours will arrive
I placed my order on april 10th.

I ordered it a week before on Thursday night. Confirmed the order and Powernotebooks charged my card on March 31st Friday (email notice). It was built and shipped to Powernotebooks (email notice on Wednesday April 5th) and arrived to Powernotebooks on Wednesday and was (email notice with tracking number was on Thursday April 6th). It arrived on Friday April 7th. And I was kicking ass (or rather getting my ass kicked as always) in CS:Source on Saturday. I have used default UPS Ground shipping. I live in SF Bay Area which is quite close to Lake Tahoe where Powernotebooks is located.

Overall it was great experience. Ron from Powernotebooks was very nice and helpful. My laptop is perfect except for one stuck red pixel ;-(

Loki, K1tty, I hope your laptops arrive soon.
Good luck.

Sounds great. I am glad you like it. I know (atleast with my 5720) PcTorque had the notebook sent directly from sager to me. It shipped from somewhere in CA, dont remember where, and PcT is in Texas. Well, hopefully I will get it soon

Update! As I suspected, It was shipped and is going to arrive via ups ground on Friday! What a weekend I will have lol

I ordered mine on April 5th and the building stage has not changed since April 7th. I called PCT today and was told that Sager has materials back ordered and there would be a further delay. Luke said he would call and confirm a ship date for me, but I have yet to hear anything back. It appears the only way to find out about an order placed is by calling PCT.

The waiting continues.

i hope you guy/gals get your laptops soon! I can't wait to hear all of your reviews. There will be like 4 reviews at the sme time , it will take me a long time to read ll of them lol!
kitty.

My first clue the thing was shipped came from the UPS notice on my door -- I was checking the PCT order status site 3 times a day. Anyway, yesterday night, PCT sent me a email at 11:35 PM that the order status had changed to "shipping" (duh) around the same time they updated the order status web site.

The shipping method I used was 2nd Day Air -- the package left Baldwin Park (CA) at 3:09 AM on April 14th (so much for 2 day air). As of two minutes ago the UPS just knocked on my door holding a new bundle of joy for me.

So why am I writing this now (?!) -- later!

Hi Miranda!

What was your config like for your 9750? Wondering if there is a common thread here.

Seems like certain people who have ordered theirs quite a bit later than me have already recieved their systems while I sit and wait.

As you have noted I have spoken to PCT several times at this point...it seems the only way to get any info from them. I despair looking at that website for my order status to change.

BTW I ordered my 9750 from PCT on the 28th of last month. The order was recieved by sager on the morning of the 31st. It's been buildin ever since

I just ordered my machine Monday night, and am currently in the middle of Verification of the CC

I emailed PCT to find out the status of the back-ordered units, but have received no reply yet. My status did move to the 2nd step of Verification, where in they ask me to verify with the CC beforehand that my shipping address is valid (Definitly a delay-inducing step, but I actually appreciate a process with a step like this, as I feel it shows theyre looking out for everyones best interests)

Here are my specs

Sager 9750-C Notebook: 9750-C

The facts revealed

I talked to Luke at PCTorque yesterday afternoon. I explained my situation regarding how long I'd been waiting and the faact that other folks that have ordered a 9750 *after* me have already recieved theirs.

He promised to look into it and call me back (as I was on the road for work and had no internet access)

I got a call about 8:30pm from Luke . He had talked to someone at Sager and finally gotten to the bottom of the whole deal.

The thing thats different about my order is that unlike most of you I picked the Nvidia Quadro 1400 as my graphics choice. Thats not a usual config compared to the 7800GTX and the Quadro is in short supply so that was the hold up.

To lessen the sting of the long delay PCT offered to upgrade my shipping!

All in all an admirable extra effort and an example of the customer support by PCT that everyone is always talking about.

Thanks PCT

I ordered my 9750 on Tuesday and talked with Luke today just to verify everything. He pretty much told me on Tuesday that with the 7800 Graphics it would ship quick. I have been bugging him daily and he's been very cool about it. I am **still** hoping it'll ship tomorrow as I paid for next day air, I really want to play WoW and Battlefeild 2 on it this weekend! I'll also update when I get it if it'll help.

Wow, so many people will be gaming on their 9750 this weekend!
congrats~

I'm glad to hear that somebody else is having my problem! I ordered my 9750 on March 23, paid by echeck (cash) which cleared the 28th, and my order status still reads "Awaiting Payment". I'm pretty patient, but I would like some acknowlegement that they got the money, which they did, and that things are going forward. I'm going to wait until Monday to call again. I spoke to Luke back in March, briefly, about another issue.
I was going to say it's probably an issue with supply and demand. We demand stuff, and they don't have enough to supply.
