Helping out a friend who has a ZX5000 with a shot keyboard was hoping someone here knew a reliable site that carries spareparts for HP notebooks that doesnt charge an arm and a leg.

Wish I could point you towards some sites, but alas I can't right now. (haven't had a need to order parts yet)

If you do find some sites, Please do post back here!!!!

To me HP seems to price their stuff WAY to high!!!

For example on the HP site they are asking $29 for a CR2032 battery like you can get at any local store for a few dollars, and online for as cheap as 48 cents....

Would be nice if there were a couple of places to buy parts from...

Froogled the part number for the part number for the keyboard, which found keyboards parts for roughly $80?! and interestingly enough some spare batteries for $35...

Seems like eBay will be your best bet..

By the way, the replacement part # is 350187-001

Good luck.

eBay is probably cheaper, but we have used LapZone and their shipping is fast and the price is reasonable. The ZX5000 keyboard is $75 there. FYI, it is the same keyboard for ZV5000 in case you are looking for it on eBay. Link to the keyboard.

Yeah I thought it was highly unreasonable for a keyboard to be over $60 as Im so used to seeing Dell keyboards for 10-20 Ive even seen people on eBay demanding 99c per Key!

You may get 99cents key if you have popped a key and lost it. It does not solve a keyboard problem otherwise since the 99 cents key is only the plastic part above the circuit board. I actually got a Dell keyboard from LapZone for ~$60. You may get cheap used part from eBay. That is one way to get rid of stolen laptop anyway.
