does the discount work on imacs or mac pro?

It works on any Mac, but you have to pay, like, 100 bucks to become a student developer.

would not think so, I used ADC store back in the days when it was for serios developers only and it's in fact the same thing as the normal store, only with better prices.

there also used to be restrictions on reselling, e.g. you are not allowed to turn around and sell it to someone else. not sure these would hold up in a court but still...

BTW to be a pro developer is a lot more expensive (to the point where the HW discount is less than the membership fee)... the student dev deal looks awesome...

I just receieved my 17" MBP on Monday a week after ordering it through the student developer program. It shipped from China as i guess they are low on supplies waiting for the upgrade. it did not take any longer than a computer from the main store would. I also ordered the AppleCare package but thru the student program as it was 100 bux cheaper and that arrived 3-4 days after i ordered it. the developer program is awesome and a great way to get a huge discount.

I'm about to fax in my schedule and student ID...anything else that i should include?

this is a hot deal, My school discount doesn't even offer that much off, I think we only get 10%, Macs are expensive but you definitely get what you pay for

Hmm, I might have to get this developer's kit. I plan on getting a MacBook Pro as my next laptop, since I am tired of that sorry piece of sh*t OS called windows. I'll probably still install that PoS OS on there anyways just to get my game on.

Can someone tell me what else I need to do, because I just went to the link to the ADC store, and selected the Macbook that I wanted, and it went all the way through to the place order without any extra charges other than the computer. I did sign up for the online membership for the ADC? Will this work?

did you get the free ADC membership or a paid one?

Only a paid membership gets you a discount.

Thanks for the info. How quickly is the time before you are able to use the discount if you pay for a student membership and you fax your school ID and such?

 I have no idea. Probably as soon as they confirm you're a student.
