inspiron coupons are good and plenty, decent xps ones probablly wont be around till the system starts to get dated.

sure your not going to save tons of money upgrading a 9400(or have pretty red lights) but the point is that there will probablly be at least a decent difference depending on the exact price of thte 7900 gtx to make it an option.
I think you missed an important part of my post....the xps has a 9700gs while the 9400 has a x1400.
7900 gs > x1400 there is most likely at least 200$ difference between those 2 cards.

You also get a docking port. That's neat cause...it might just be enough to convince my boss to get me a xps instead of a 9400.

Anyway...base price is basicaly the same. And if you buy thru Balthazar you get it real cheap. And yesterday someone had figured out a way to use a coupon with it... A lucky few got it working.

yeah i understand that much, but hopefully the x1400 isnt permanent.

so basically if no coupons are involved the m1710 is the best choice. But if you find a great 9400 deal it may be a good idea just to upgrade cards.

anyone know if the docking port will work with the 9400? I cant see why not.
