here's what i get after requesting a replacement for 9890 that has died three times ("Operating System not found", "Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard" - all raid conroller-related) in a 4-month period:

Our policy is within ager one year warranty, if the same parts been replace for more then 3 times then we will replace the unitnext time if fail again but need keep the same screen if the screen have scratch on the surface..

translation: according to this technician, the same part in your system has to fry 5 (five) times - for sager to realise and acknowledge they're fixing not the cause but the effect, and finally replace the whole defective unit with another one.

btw, it took me two weeks after my 9890 died last time to finally get this much info on the subject from the guy. requests for his supervisor somehow never managed to come through.

bottom line: if your sager works - it's perfect, and you can even use it for work (make daily backups, though). if it fails - you're soooo...

thank you, doggie96! i've been reading these for a long while, couldn't post though - registration would reject my company email address as one of the "free web service" ones, and forums admin mailto link is defunct

its a widely known fact. its a shame that you haveto spend over $650(in my case, from ny) in shipping to get it straightened out.the heat issues should be acknowledged as a sager trait by the techs.

overall, adding close to another K to the units msrp.

all this under a 1 year ownershipp status is unacceptable by a "high performance machine"....
