Audigy 2 ZS sound lag: SOLVED

I do not know how many of us here already figured this out. But for the sake of those who are annoyed with the audio lag audigy 2 zs notebook has while playing through notebook speakers, here is what I did.

1. Uninstalled all creative softwares (drivers, player, media source, bla bla bla)
2. Downloaded the driver from here
3. Ran auto update and downloaded Mediasource go and Player.
4. From the feature mode selection utility, enabled the playback through notebook speakers. I can now play games and get the audio through my XPS2 speakers without any lag. The volume is not loud enough (and this a known issue) but sure the lag is gone.

I tried NFS-MW and Mia's voice did sync with her lip movements and I did not see any lag during race either.

(SORRY IF THIS IS A REPOST)

Thanks for that. About the volume being low. Did you try and crank the "wave" volume slider (volumes control panel) to maximum? It gave me more volume on my computer.

I noticed that after installing the new driver (from Creative's site) there's no sound lag at all (Winamp,Warcraft III,....) but after playing a movie and skip forward it happened again and wont go away. DOes your driver solve the problem kpkeerthi ?

Only fix I've found for this lag when it happens is to plug a pair of headphones into the headphone jack on the audigy, and then unplug them. Most of the time when the audio swings back to the onboard speakers it will be back in sync. Sometimes I've had to plug/unplug two or three times in a row to get it back, but normallly it only takes once.

I think I've got a fix for the volume being too low...

In your control panel, got to sounds and audio.
Select the standard creative stuff as default, click apply, up the volume in the other tab and switch back.

Creative makes such good HARDWARE, but their software really f*cks everything up big time.
