710m arrow keys stick

Hey all,

I just got a new 710m and I love it, but one nagging issue is worrying me. Sometimes when I'm playing a really old school game (Lands of Lore I, Ur-Quan Masters) the arrow keys used for movement, though the key comes right back up, remain pressed. I haven't yet encountered this outside the games and StickyKeys is off.

The only way I can get it to stop is to change windows and change back. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this or have run into it themselves?

Couple things to try to see if it is the keys themselves (even though they are coming back up, may still be depressed underneath), or the game. Try assing the movement keys to other keys on your keyboard if possible. If you can't, open notepad/wordpad and type about 10 lines of junk. Then use your arrow keys to go up down left right. If when you let go the cursor keeps going, its the keyboard itself. If not, it's the game.

SO the problem never occurs on anything else?

I've got a boing boing springy noise on my right mouse button now. Every time I type, it sounds like Bugs Bunny is creeping up on me.

Thanks for the advice drinkmore, I'll give it a go in a little bit. It's definitely not a "still depressed key" problem because the solution involves simply switching windows, but it definitely could be just the game.

I never said it only happens in-game but I've never encountered it. It likely only seems more pertinent during games than web browsing.
