Graphical Problem with my E1505

Sorry to trouble you guys with my first post, but i cant really find a solution

I just got a E1505 (T2500) with 2 gig of ram, integrated graphic card and the best screen option. However, when i receive my laptop, i see a HUGE problem. It displays a lot of low-quality graphic pixel-ated. For example, it doesnt have any problems with high-res pictures. But when i look at the top of of this page, where it says "NotebooksForum.com", the entire heading seems pixeled. i can even see the rough edges around it. The same applies to the smilies that appear in the forum. Anyone else have this problem, or did i not make myself understandable?

Please HELP

does this only happen when you're browsing the internet, or does it also happen elsewhere on your desktop?

also, have you tried using different web browsers?

This happens everywhere. Even my MSN messenger icon seems blurry. The "Post Reply" button in this forum seems blur too. My gut feeling tells me theres something wrong with my graphic settings.

thanks f

are you running at your screen's native resolution (the highest resolution it supports)? LCDs tend to be blurry at resolutions other than native.

If it's not your resolution (it should be set to the max setting for your screen), it's probably the DPI setting. if you set it to the default : 96dpi.

You can change it by right clicking on the desktop then left click on properties, then click on the settings tab (last one on the right), then click on the advances button at the bottom right, then change it to 96dpi.

Or, you could use the Quickset program that should be running in your system tray (bottom right of screen with the clock). just left click on it, goto 'icons & toolbars' and select normal.

I hope this helps.

Don't forget that at the default 120pixels/inch setting Dell ships with that things are more jaggier. I think you will find they look much better if you reset it to the default 96/inch.

you can also leftclick the dell quickset icon in your taskbar and disable ie scaling to fix this with 120 dpi fonts.
