That one looks cool. I'm still using my XPS gen 2 bag.

For those worried about the new prices, I specced up a M1710 and it came to 1919, about 250 less than a few weeks ago. However, Jakes' rep told me that while prices were about to drop the offers he could do wouldn't be as good, so the prices through him would be roughly the same anyway. So I wouldn't go cancelling orders if they haven't been shipped yet

100 7200 is £129 extra on dells site, the 5400 is still standard. the price cuts reflect the may 28 cut in processor prices. I suspect they will rise again when the 2.33 yonha is introduced shortly

Im happy with the price we got it for and i remember when talking to the rep that he said he did not go off the prices or offers on the website - he works to a different margin.

This M1710 s worth every penny and every minute I waited for it. I'm playing Battlefield 2 on max settings, and it didn't run thi smoothly on minimum on my old comp. I LOVE YOU DELL

I'm still waiting. Typical Walsh Western. Did the same to me last year. I was told delivery would be between 4 and 5. Called at 5.30 when nothing had arrived. Was told the driver was stuck in traffic and would definitely deliver by 8pm. It is now 9.30. I wouldn't have minded if they'd let me know, but now I've taken the day off for nothing, with not even a phonecall to explain. As I say, they did EXACTLY the same last year.

My M90 finally arrived this morning at 8.50 after I complained to the company. I asked the driver what happened. He said, "I dunno".

I've only had a few minutes to play, but my first impressions are good. It looks just like an XPS gen2/M170 except the main body is charcoal grey. Very nice indeed.

I'm still adjusting to the screen. It looks pretty much like the one on my girlfriends 6400 to me. I'm more used to the truelife display of the Gen 2. I may swap them if I can't get used to the new one, but I have to say that I chose the same wallpaper (crystal) and the M90 screen clearly shows the purple tint on the right hand side, whereas the gen2 shows it more as blue (could be my settings mind you). On explorer I can also clearly see the difference between the greys and whites whereas I couldn't on the true-life display. Anyone know how to check which screen I have?

I've also noticed the wireless on the M90 is excellent strength whereas the Gen 2 next to it only has 60% strength.

So far so good.

Great to hear it got to you!

Thanks again for setting me up with the rep. Shame the prices have dropped a bit, but then again it'll always be like that with new technology!

I'm busy tailoring my media collection to work well with XP MCE, MCE seems to organise by id3 tags and all my mp3s have a complete mess of them :S

clickin xps

lovely comp and installed lots of games now! lovely computer. quick question, has anybody else with the xps noticed that when it loads up when cold there is clicking from the hard drive? it stays and then after 2/3 mins it disappears. didnt know if anyone else had this or noticed it or any views? not sure how much to read into it as just seems to take bit longer loading up and quite loud. did ring support and did all diagnostics but all showed ok, and by then it was all working fine.
anyone ne ideas?

Can anyone tell me exactly what docking stations / port replicators work with the M1710. Loads on ebay but messaged a few sellers and all have said they dont work?! I assume if I get a port replicator then I have to replace the power adapter with a PA-13 (normally supplied with a PA10) but does the docking station with the built in PSU actually work? If so any specifc model? Thanks!

Yes it does. There have been numerous threads about this.

Is there a way to guarantee a quality rep?
