quite often Dell will list the system as building for an extended period of time. I have ordered hundreds of systems off dell. The system could sit in that stage while they wait on parts. I had a system sit in the building stage for 3 weeks once and when I finally called i was informed that the system was waiting for parts. Guess what part? A second battery! I asked, "Why in the world would you hold up this system for a 2nd battery?" The response was that Dell would have to ship the battery separately and it would cost Dell more money. I said, "I'll pay for the extra shipping!". I had the system 2 days later. Nothing in the world is more frustrating than paying for expedited shipping and still waiting 2 or 3 weeks for the item.

Congrats Big. That's Dell for ya. Never anywhere else does that kind of thing happen (the 170 to 1710 switch)

Oh well I'm still in prepro - and probably their due date will still work, it being May 11th. Sit back and sit tight and wait for them to build it right

I'm eagerly awaiting Viper's response from SB to see if he got the discount. Still in pre-pro as of 18:54 EST.

I am so happy.. I called Dell Home, and told them I have a business account. I ordered the 2.16 with 2 gig ddr, 100 gig 7200, 7900 512M Video, and they upgraded me to 4 yr. ltd. warranty and the personaliztion shields with Windows Media Center, and gave me $500 off plus the upgrade warranty was free. Total shipped and tax, $3999.84. I am very happy.. And my delivery date is 6 days sooner then my previous order on Friday of Last Week.. Call them if you want a better deal then the web. They are giving better deals if you ask. Hope this helps some of you. No need to go thru dell small business. I dealt with Dell home..

$4K total ... damn what was your total b4 Viper?
No I went thru Dell Home. You cannot use DPA through Dell Business. But I told them I have a Dell Business Account. It's in my employers name, but I do all the ordering. They never asked for any info though. They said they wanted to make a deal that I would be happy with. I cancelled the order in Dell Chat and had her refresh my credit limit on my DPA Account, so the $ was available. Then I called Dell Home..

I went thru EPP and used a coupon for 25% off plus another 12% off by picking up the silver warranty package. I got a total discount of $1260 from $3704 to $2444 and free shipping. I did have to pay $176.68 in sales tax. The coupon was only good for about 20 minutes before it was either fully redeemed or Dell caught on.

$3964 but that was a web order, and only the T2500 with a 80 gig H/D and 2 yr. ltd warranty. I know, I should have called to begin with.

I am calling Dell Home now to see if they can give me a better deal than my EPP purchase. Wish me luck.
