What happend to bal's thread

Thread Starter
I was wondering what happened to his thread that he posted about the Dell XPS M1710 laptop fully loaded for 2750?

Either it was buried in all the constant daily mess of the forums... or a moderator deemed the thread as violating the "No Selling" guidelines and wiped it out.

I think everyone knows how great Bal is, and I know he knows that he's appreciated.

Anybody moderating the moderators? Aren't these boards supposed to be FOR the people? Seems to me that the people WANT Bal's offers.

I emailed Bal about it. He said he took it down because his rep was taking heat from Dell. I would have too, don't want to lose that great inside connection.

Just shows you that Dell is seriously gouging the customer on the M1710. I think it is still way over priced.

Looks like it's a limited time offer.

After I find out if my new job (if I indeed land it) will provide me with a notebook computer, I may still PM bal to see if he can still get me a bargain.

Currently, I'm between this Dell and the Apple Powerbook Pro (which can dual-boot XP).

Bal deleted his own thread. Why dont' you ask him before assuming we're all Nazi's and take cheap shots at us.

Although I believe he owes a huge commission to the owners of this forum, the thread was removed by him and him alone.

I hope he is OK. I PM'd him last night, and again this morning. I am trying to get one of the SB Audgie cards for my XPS.

Ya, he shot me a PM offering his services when AI first joined the boards. Pretty cool guy.

Exactly. He told me the samething 2 nights ago so if you want a deal do it low profile via PM or emails.

He's a dell reseller and has a contact with a rep at Dell.

I was wondering the same thing. DELL's business is built on the direct sales model so selling to Balth'zar in order for him to turn around to sell to consumers is really not part their game plan. They do have a "Solution Provider" arragement where a company that provides technology solutions to other companies can buy products from DELL for their customers. However these customers are supposed to be businesses. One can sign up for this program here:

https://membership.solutionproviderd...&s=bsdv&cs=08W

My guess is that Balth'zar simply established such an account with DELL and has a good relationship with the DELL salesperson associated with his account. However as per DELL the products bought through such an account are "Not for resale on auction sites or to consumers", which makes me wonder about the validity of such a transaction and which is why he is probably trying to keep things as low profile as possible.
