Well, to revive an old thread...

It's starting to act up on me again. The batteries will charge all the way, but will only drain down to 70% before the machine shuts off. They also get burn your hand hot during this time. I'm guessing that alienware support will be getting a call by the end of the month that my system has died again.

wow, sorry to hear all this. not to hijack or flame or anything, but i have a dell and i havent had a problem once (and when i did break something by my fault, they sent me replacement parts free, no questions asked, next day air). im sure dell has their share of bad times too, but im glad i havent experienced this. you guys should defenitly stay on their ass and complain as much as you can to the management as its your right as a consumer. i can only god hope that they eventually listen to you guys and put customers over money and send u some free compensation

oh, and if you guys havent, PM some of the alienware staff who hang on this forum. i hear once people get in direct contact with them, their problems are solved quickly, i cant remember the exact member names but if you look on any other alienware support thread, their name should come up

Well, work said they'd buy me a laptop to keep me, so I pimped an alienware system figuring I'd haggle down to a high end dell and they bit the big worm. On the other hand, we got 12 inspirons at work, and 7 of them have had to be serviced in the last 18 months.

yeah, I read most all the threads. I'm not worried. Both times it's died so far, it came back working (although the first time, it came back with dirt behind the screen/dead pixels, which they were supposed to fix the second time they had it, and it DIDN'T have the first time I sent it in. Next time I send it in, it had best be fixed. I've extend my warranty another 3 years, so they'll prolly see plenty of it.
