9860 bios failure - need rescue disk

does anyone have a sager rescue disk to force bios to reset from the protected boot block of the bios chip. updating bios failed and took out bios code. can't boot from disk to run flash utility.

won't buy another sager after this crap. no reason for them not to post or at least supply the bios rescue disk to users who bought their product.

worst tech support I've ever seen from a computer company.

Sager posts both the BIOS flash utility and the BIOS code on the driver download page for the 9860.

Yes but not the rescue disk for when the bios goes south and won't boot. Have to have the top secret disk w/ code for forcing the bios to restore off the protected ROM on the bios.

Don't understand. If you can't "Boot", you probably can't even pass (or start POST). I "blew" the BIOS update on my older 3300 Series machine and simply ordered a new EPROM that was correctly loaded. I believe that it cost about $50 and was mailed and received in less than a week.

Might try that route.....

If you screw the bios up theres only one way to recovery apart from getting a replacement chip and that is to hot flash it, but for this you need another chip with the corrct bios on it anyway so unless you know some one else with a 9860 who is willing to take there eprom out and let you mess around with it your up the creek with out a paddle,
Ive never heard of a top secret rescue disk as there isnt one
