This is as simple as the title says. Just for us to have an idea what the percentage of the Mx438g shows visible lag simptoms. Hope you find it useful

Well, so far things seem pretty much balanced. I must say I was not expecting this when I posted the poll. I always tought there were much more systems with the lag defect that made it's usage impossible. Anyway, I'm sure many people didn't cast their vote yet, so let's see how this turns out.

Well, decided to cast my own vote, as I'm now a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M3438G owner.
Finally made my mind after many months of indecision and hard search. Was undecided on last minute between this and the XI 1546, but the price factor won (1600€ vs 990€ (sweet deal)).
Anyway, after 3 weeks of intensive usage, I got 4 "brr" lags. So far, so good, it's performance is in no way affected, so my vote goes to the second option.
I'm really satisfied with my purchase, it's a great system for this price. If only others weren't so affected by the lag problem...

Personally I love the computer. Fast as f*k! I don't really play many games, although I do play TrackMania Nations which is very intensive, and I rarely get any problems to tell you the truth, unless there are other conditions (ie. with any major HD accessing while playing games, or when downloading stuff at length from the internet running in the background).

After half an year of this thread's existance, results are as follows:

Yes, it lags frequently (makes functionality almost impossible). 3 25.00%
Yes, it lags from time to time (doesn't affect it's functionality). 5 41.67%
No, it doesn't show any lag. 4 33.33%

Being an owner, I must confess that today I would have voted on "No, it doesn't show any lag", because I've never had a "brr" lag for 3 months (since I instaled the latest VIA driver). Even though this is not a solution for the lagging problem, my system runs perfectly. I'm aware I got really lucky. All I can say is that this system rocks when performing as it should.

The poll results keep surprising me, I thought the Yes votes would be much more.

These days, I would have to vote "no" too, instead of my original vote. The lagging is probably still in there in some small way, in a way that it does not affect any of the notebook's functions, and an invisible problem ceases to be a problem.

The people who come here are only a very small subsection of the users, after all. The people who experienced the lag on a Amilo 3438vprobably number in their thousands or more...

Well, of course, but even so I expected them to be way higher. If you think about it, a person who has some sort of problem on their computer, is more likely to visit the forum than somone who has no problems at all. But yes, you're right, unfortunatelly those who are affected are much more.
