Adam notified me that he recieved my wire transfer at 12:57 PM yesterday. He notified me that my 8887 had shipped at 8:37 PM last night. It got here at 11:08 AM today!!!!
Granted I did pay for next day shipping, but 22 hrs from the time of reciept of the wire transfer is incredible. I work the midnight shift so I was asleep when it got here. I am typing this message on it. I haven't finished installing all of my older software on it yet and haven't had the time to do a lot of testing yet, but what I have seen so far is wonderful.
The screen is excellent and much better than it looked from the posted pictures. It is good to view from about a 60 degree angle. It looks more like a CRT than a LCD. It puts my old Toshiba 15" to shame. I have now seen what people are referring to with the ghosting when you move text, but I can't read moving text anyway. It doesn't bother me at all.
I have 2 wireless access points set up at my house. I haven't put much time into it yet. It has recognized 1 right away, but not the other one yet. I will have to mess with settings a little bit and get it to find it. First appearances are that signal strength is much better with the mini card than with my D-Link pcmcia card. I will test the range this weekend and post it in the review section. My pcmcia card in the old computer can reach about 75 yards outside the house (into the back of my barn) on an average day without excessive signal interference. We'll see how much farther I can get with this one.
I am adjusting to the keyboard as I type this and don't think it will be hard to get used to.
BTW, no dead pixels on the monitor.
Thank You Adam for a great job.
