I am thinking of buying a used NC6000 from someone, the only thing is that it has the 32Mb Video card instead of the optional 64mb. Is it possible to buy and swap out the video card to the new one ?? If so does anyone know the part number and cost ??? Thanks again for any info. God Bless.

Not sure if you can swap the system board. Take the link below, then click on the Maintenance and Service Guide pdf to get to the manual for the nc6000 where you can check out the procedure. (try looking around page 5-47):

The part # for the 64-MB discrete video memory is 346885-001. And, below is the link for the HP Parts online store - just type in the part # (does not look like this part is available ??? but this page gives you the phone #'s to call to inquire.

Guys,

Does any of you know what rev of the Intel 855P chipset is used in the nc6000? I was told that two revs of this chipset are currently out there in the market: rev A3 and rev B1. Is it true that rev A3 only supports 266MHz DRAM, while B1 supports up to 333MHz? Any idea what's currently shipping in the nc6000?

Many thanks!

I guess the only way to know or a good guess, would be to find out what speed memory the current NC6000 uses, then that way you can pretty much guestimate with good accuracy of which 855P chipset it uses, I am thinking and hoping it is the B1 that supports the 333Mhz, but I could be wrong. Anyone with a NC6000 want to chime in ??? God Bless.
