well, im waiting for my system from irland.
Only thing im unsure about my setup is the intel wlan.. but maybe g and 22MB isnt that realistic, and if it becomes a standard i probably can buy the intel g/b later on. But its the only thing on my setup i have second thoughts about.

The video drivers, whats the deal with catalyst/omega drivers to those dl from dell site?

and what 3dmark prog is the best to test the machine? it probably has to be charging for a day before i can test this.

im curious to know why you chose the 80gb 5400 rpm drive over the 60gb 7200rpm one?

Because in norway 7200 isnt available, and also 80G was part of a free upgrade. Its a multimedia deal and total cost of this spec was in us $ 2250

And in norway prices are very high compared to other countries.

The day after i ordered the system, they put 1.5 m instead of 1.7 as standard multimedia deal. And is now a 215$ upgrade, so i was lucky there.

not sure if im going to call the salesperson and ask for the tm 1300 b/g in the morning, if the order isnt sent yet. its a 50$ upgrade.

stick with the b card its really not neccessary you will get much better speeds with the ethernet for file sharing and most broadband connections dont exceed b standards excluding Korea and Japan

hm i pay 14 $ a month for just 1.5 mbps

anyways think ill just keep the intel, i hate decicions when it comes to computers. Was promised 7-8 days delivery so well see, its bigger and heavier than my previous one so this can be interesting.

Ah, Korea, my old stomping grounds from 1997-98. I was stationed at Camp Stanley, working about 14 hours a day, 6 days a week. Not fun . Led to excessive drinking in my off time . All the Koreans I met were quite nice, though .

I was at Camp Humphreys in Pyongtaek 92-93 .. 3rd MI Bn, 504th MI Bde .. We had it a lot more easy that you did ..5 1/2 - 6 hours a day 3 or 4 days a week ..

Left lots of time for drinking and partying

I loved it there .. Great people, culture and food ..
