TV Out problem (black and white)

Hello. I have an Inspiron 8600 with an ati 9600 pro turbo in it. Today, I tried the tv out function to watch a dvd on my tv. I connected the s-video-to-composite cable that came with my laptop and then connected the yellow-to-yellow video cable from the composite to my TV. I get a picture but its in black and white. I have made sure that i am ouputting NTSC and not PAL. Does any one know how to solve this problem? Thanks guys.

check the settings on your vid card. I know when I first got a tv-out capable ati card for one of my desktops, I ran into the same problem and it was the color saturation on the video card settings was turned down by default (why I dont know).

Probably not a solution for your case, but something to look into.

On one of my ild desktops, there was a setting where you had to select composite out. Because you are using the adapter, i think this is the case.

I used an S-Video to SCART cable and had no problems at all.

Maybe that is the solution for you? See http://www.svideo.com ...
