Fn CRT/LCD(F6) doesn't work anymore

Hi all,

I bought an Optoma LCD projector and it has been working great with the VGA out from my 3790. A couple of days ago I set it up for my kids to watch movies on a big screen and the Fn-CRT/LCD(F5) sequence properly switched between the projector and the LCD screen. Today, during setup of the same configuration, Fn-CRT/LCD no longer works!!
If I boot up with the VGA cable unplugged, then plug it in, the display simply flickers but won't switch to the external VGA. It appears that the 3790 doesn't see the projector, and the projector can't detect the 3790.
If I boot up with the VGA cable plugged in, the output switches during the last of the boot process to the external VGA permanently, and pressing Fn-CRT/LCD does nothing.
I've tested both the Fn and F6 separately and they appear to be working ok. I checked the display settings and find nothing strange there either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks alot,

Greg

sometimes FN+F6 works, sometimes not

I'm also experiencing quizzical behavior.

I'm lending my Sager 3790 to a colleague to make a presentation, using Powerpoint on Windows XP. You would think this would be a common enough occurence that Microsoft wouldn't make the Administrator use regedit in order to permit the User to change the power scheme so the machine doesn't screen save during the presentation. But, I digress.

In setting up this new user, I found that FN+F6 seems to only work for the FIRST user who tries it after booting up. At first, I thought it was another weird Windows XP privilege I had to track down. But, after rebooting, the *user* had the ability to cycle between the LCD and CRT, and the *administrator* was out of luck (until the next reboot).

So, I don't know if this solves your problem, but hopefully others out there with the 3790 will find this thread and add their two cents.

Charles
