Acer Travelmate 2300 Series model ZL1

Hi folks,
i have an acer travelmate 2300 series ZL1 - it was working fine up until a few days ago when i restarted the PC and it seems to have gone into a coma of some sort - when you power it up the power light comes on , the media light flashes four times (happens both on AC power without battery and with battery) whichh is normal and the cpu fan spins for about 3 seconds and then turns off, then the laptop basically restarts itself and repeats this process over and over.... during all this nothing shows up on the screen it is absolutely dead, and none of the caps Lock, Num... are active either.

have tested RAM and harddrive, AC adapter is measuring up fin with multimeter etc...

I suspect CPU or Mobo problem - any seconds?

without completely stripping the laptop to get the cpu is there anyway to confirm it is the CPU? or mobo?

ive been through all the basic troubleshooting tips and tricks - but nothing.

Thanks

Confirmed it is not the CPU

luckily i managed to get my hands on the exact same laptop from somewhere else - i done a CPU swap and CPU seems to work fine on the other laptop - however when i put the working CPU in the mobo of the non-working pc,,, i had the same problem - i conclude from here that it is the mobo... darn.!
