Alienware is probably gonna delay the Aurora M notebook

It appears that they will not go with the SIS 755 chipset, which in my opinion is a bad move as the choice of chipset manufacturer they made, will result in poor support from that manufacturer.

I guess you haven't had the AMD experience. I've had both AMD and intel, and I <3 amd. Its also my brothers initials

I've had both Intel and AMD, and I havn't really noticed any spectacular differences performance wise (well there's the $$$ difference too). AMD does have alot of zealous fans though (one convinced me to go for an AMD desktop).

I think that "zealous fans" may not be the correct choice of words, more like cultist worshipers. There is more than one reason the AMD processor is cheaper, 1st it runs like crap on anything Microsft codes (this is why Intel has offices on the Microsoft campus.) 2. It runs HOT, our demo chips that we have on hand get super toasty.

They are not worth saving a couple of bucks over , IMHO.

im in the same boat, as far as performance goes ive seen no difference between the 2 machiens i have, mostly the same specs in both machines outside of the procs.

If I may interject, recently I was looking at another desktop, before I decided to get a laptop. There really is no difference any more between an intel and amd, unless you get a cheap mobo and ram. Most people forget you have to spend a lot on a good hsf for amd, while the intel stock hsf will allow you to oc to almost 4 gig...

I see HUGE losses with the AMD line in rendering, and compiling. This is why you NEVER see companies like HP or IBM shipping server class machines with AMD procs, simply put they can't handle the load of server class machines, and they lack good technology for multiprocessor usage.
