burning data dvds on 5672 in winxp?

Should it be possible to burn a data dvd in winxp by dragging the files onto the dvd drive and burning from within my computer? I know I can make a data cd that way. I tried to make a data dvd on my 5672 and it asked me to but in a valid cd-r. I've done a fresh install of winxp, so I'm not sure if I'm missing some drivers for the dvd drive, or if that was even possible on the original system.

Thanks,
j

yeah nero is good, then there is the NTI software that comes with the laptop, while not the fastest software will definitely do the job

Nero is very good and considered to be one of the best. However if you want one with basic features and is free, I quite like ImgBurn.

It's weird: FAT32 should take files up to 4 Gb. Anything bigger than 4 Gb just won't do it.
But 2 Gb, that's odd...

Mine gave me the same error message while using Nero when I tried to create an .iso... after I converted the drive to ntfs it all worked smoothly.

I burned transfered data files from my old laptop to the 5672 with nero 6. The NTI software that came with the Acer is crap. I couldn't get past joliet errors with long filenames in my favorities. Nero took care of that problem and only had to truncate a few names.
