Just wondering, I have a new E1505 and the screen has started to have alot of play in it. Does anyone else have this problem. Mine is up to 1/2" now.

Seems this isn't a problem for most, maybe it is time for me to call this cause it is still getting worse

What do you mean by play? In the hinges or somewhere else? It's hard to tell what you're talking about, as there are several things that could have play in them.

I assume he means that if you take your screen, open it up to a normal position and see how much it moves before there's any resistance. Mine has about 1/16"-1/8" of play measured at the top of the screen, which I find acceptable.

Exactly what I mean. Mine has about 3/4" of movement at the top now and getting worse. When I sit with my laptop on my lap, it is to the point now that it flops back and forth. The computer is only 2 weeks old today. If there was an easy way to tighten it myself I would because this is really getting annoying.

From outward appearances the E1505's hinges should have adjustable tension. You just need to remove your keyboard bezel. At each hinge there should be a hex nut on the end of the hinge pin facing towards the center of the laptop. You should be able to use a small open ended wrench to tighten the hinges that way. I'd help you more on that, but all I have to go on are some low res pictures that I can barely see any detail on (but enough to tell me how to disassemble it). Also, this is entirely assuming your hinges aren't somehow broken. If they are, or the adjustment doesn't help call Dell and have them replace the LCD Top cover.

Thank you so much for the info, I'll take a look at it tonight. If it looks like more than I want to get into, I'll most likely just call Dell.

Got my screen fixed last week. Went pretty smooth and now it is fine. Hinges are not adjustable, whole back piece had to be replaced. Guy that came and did the work had to figure out how to take the screen off, he said the design must have changed. Other than telling me that he didn't talk at all the whole time, even when I asked him questions. He man handled my screen pretty good and left large greasy fingerprints and smudges all over it, he didn't even offer to clean it off. He didn't even snap the screen cover back together all the way, I had to do that myself. I am glad my computer is fixed, but the guy gave me a really creepy vibe.
