Ok I already have a pretty good gaming desktop that has some upgrade life left into it. I NEED a laptop for my new job. Does it have to be gaming? No, but it would be nice to game on the side. I cannot go through a reseller unfortunately because dell is offering the no interest for 18 months on xps lappy's which is an awesome deal. I could pay that off relatively easily. I am "only" approved for 3k. So i could get this spec m1170
1.83ghz, 1 gig ram, 60gig 7200rpm hd and 512mb 7900gtx for 3k on the dot.
OR I could get a refurbished m170 with specs like these:
2ghz, 1gig ram, 60gig hd, 256gtx for about 1800.
Is the one gig enough? No refurb offers two, and on the m1170 1 gig is all I can afford. Secondly, is the 1.83 fast enough? finally, do you think its worth the extra 1200 bucks to get the dual core and the beefier gfx card over the xps m170?
