Over the weekend my HD starting making loud clicking noise and being in IT I know what that mean it's on its way out. If I have dell send me a replacement for my 630m will it be blank or have the Orignal bloatware image.

About 4 years ago (for my old, old lappy) I had a HDD go and they sent a replacement with a bloatware image on it. It was a refurb, but I never had a problem with the HDD again.

Yes, just recently (Nov. '05) on a desktop. One month left on the warranty, they sent someone by to swap it out and reinstall the o/s, then called me later in the day to walk me through reloading all of the drivers. I must admit that I was quite impressed with that particular customer service experience.
btw, they replaced a 120GB HD with a 160GB HD.

if your outside of 180 days, they will NOT send an image on the HD.

if your inside this period, youll get a drive with the original partitions on it.

i was told this on the phone twice. have recieved two replacements (both outside of 180 days, both BLANK)

Yeah, most of the hard drives they ship out are blank. However, I didn't realize that Dell would only send an imaged hard drive within the first six months. Then again, they don't tell me those sorts of things.

did you ask for a blank one?

i was told it several times over the phone, so ill believe it TO BE TRUE. i think dell doesnt treat any ONE person the same, and i think that sucks.

just got another new hd from dell, as my 6400's hd chose to stop working on me.
It came blank, another 2 hours wasted thanks to Dell.
