Radeon Mobility vs Radeon 7500

I have the choice between the two, 16 MB for the Mobility, 32 MB for the Mobility 7500.. I realize both are bad cards, but how much better is the 7500?? I can get two different laptops for around the same price with either of the two, just the extras are different.

The 7500 should be considerably better. I had one on my VPR Matrix notebook and it played UT2K3, BF1942, etc. just fine.

Thanks for the help, I decided both aren't good enough for me :\ going to make some sacrifices in the upgradeable parts (hard drive, ram) to get a 32 MB 9000 instead at about the same price.

The 7500 has dedicated memory, while the 9000 I believe uses shared memory. 9200 over 7500, maybe. 9600 over 7500, definitely. But 9000? I'd be dubous about making the sacrifices you're making for a shared memory solution.

9000 is not shared memory. At least I haven't seen any like that. The laptop I'm using right now has a 9000 with dedicated memory. So does the T40, Dell D800 and Acer Travelmate.

I've only encountered the 9000 in recent browsings of HP's site--the Compaq R3000T and the HP zv5000 series both claim 9000 with 64MB shared--not dedicated--memory.

My bad. (Though still something to keep an eye out for.)

HP/Compaq x1000's all use Mobility 9000. They advertise them as a 9200, but they're really 9000's blessed (?) by ATI.
