Are Fedex estimates accurate?

My comp was sent to fedex monday. Fedex emailed me saying my estimate delivery date is the 26th which is only 2 days. I check this morning on tuesday and it says it is leaving fedex in orlando now at 6:24 AM EST. So that would mean fedex could get it from Fedex in Orlando to Knoxville Tennessee in 1 day? Or are estimates just not very accurate.

Someone tell me how accurate there fedex estimates were

all estimates I got from FEDEX for my alienware adventure were right on the nose perfect. mine went from FLA - OH - PA. They will drive it all night !

what I get here is fed ex doesn't deliver on some days and I'll look on thier site and it says that it'll be delivered on a day that they don't deliver.I just know that I got to wait another day. at the very last minute thier site'll say something like "rural exception" if it won't be there when it's susposed to.

That all depends on where you live and where the FEDEX depot is. Most people know if they live in one of these places, it's not like it's the first thing they would have had shipped to them. The worst I have heard was when fedex sub-contracts delivery when their closest depot is out of reach. But there again most people know they are. DiSReSpEcTFuL, what is your past fedex ground expirience been ? and do you know how far from a fedex depot you are ?

Lol.. ya I am not sure how close I live to fedex.. I normally end up getting packages from UPS lol.. Oh well I am sure Fedex knows what they are doing but that estimate doesnt seem realistic ... it says Fedex ground so it seems driving from florida to TN would take about 10 hours if they came straight here.. which they dont

never seen fedex not on time. They said my computer was coming at 11am, it arrived at 10:56. - They delivered from Florida to Canada in 1 day. So i guess there is no unrealistic dead lines :P

I order a lot of stuff from newegg.com, and I always pick FedEx. They've consistently beaten their estimated arrival times by 24 hours (most of the time, newegg ships from California, and I live in Oregon, so that might have something to do with it). Also, if you're not home to receive the package, FedEx will make sure to take it back to a depot where it's safe. UPS tends to just leave the package at your door... which is not good if you're waiting for a computer to arrive. They're slower than FedEx, to boot.

That's not entirely true, UPS won't leave a package on your doorstep if it requires a signature. The cool thing about UPS though is that if you can't be there to sign all the time, you can set it up to where if you're not here to sign, UPS will leave it exactly where you specify. Otherwise, they'll keep it and leave a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or last try notice. Fedex won't allow this whatsoever. Sadly I have to drive an hour away to go pick up my m5500 which is poised to come in on wednesday O.o
