AKG K 601 vs. Sennheiser HD580

Hi, I'm currently deciding whether to purchase the K601's or the HD580's...
Anybody have any suggestions on which one to choose?

I hear the HD580's generally have a very laid back sound...

I'm not quite sure if the K 601's are laid back as well, but I currently use Grado SR-60's and enjoy the "in-your-face" type of sound.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I don't know about the AKG's but I have a pair of Senn 595's and they are supposed to be about the most forward "in your face" of the Senns and after using my Grado 325's I can't enjoy them like I used to, if you like the Grado sound I don't think you'll like Senns much, if at all.

Thanks for the info.
Guess I'll be going for the AKG's then.
I've been reading up on the K 601's, they seem like a pretty solid pair of cans.

I know there's a decent amount of people at Head-Fi who have accounts here (like me).

And me. Anyways, I'd go for the K601's if you odon't want the laid-back sound of the Senns. Also, for the money you could pick up something like the SR225 or maybe SR325i from Grado. No matter what you get in this price range you'll probably want an amp. Here's my portable rig:
