Anyone know when we might expect to see a dual core, 64-bit mobile chip in a portable laptop?

Thanks for any insight.

Thought that was available with the 9750?? AMD Chip. Were you asking about an INTEL?

AMD's releasing its mobile dual-core 64-bit chip (Turion X2) in a couple of weeks (May 9th); expect to see Turion X2 notebooks approximately 1-2 months after that. Intel's mobile dual-core 64-bit chip (codenamed Merom) doesn't have an official release date, but the buzz is that it's slated to be released sometime late 2006. Edit:

The 9750 has an Athlon 64 X2, which is dual-core and 64-bit, but it's not really a mobile chip. The Turion line is optimized for notebook performance.

Thanks a lot folks. I am aware of the 9750, but was interested in a light portable with good power consumption.

Is the Turion X2 still going to be socket 939?
If so, could it be installed in a 9750-V?
