Thread Starter
What happened to this thread? From the top of my memory:

12" wxga screen (1280 x 800)
Nvidia 7400 graphics
Integrated optical drive
Core Duo (probably of the low power kind)
Up to 2 or 4gb? ram
Bluetooth v2 and 3945abg
Expresscard and 5in1 media reader
2 headphone ports
webcam option
Release May 31st? early June?

looks like someone removed it

My x300 has problems running games at 1280x800, and the x1400 is supposed to be it's successor. They at least could try and fit in a mainstream in there.

x1300 is the x300 succesor.
The x1400 is better than the x600.
feel like the x1400 is the x300 sucessor
X1400 is just a speed-bumped X1300.

x1600 is much better than the x1400. you are correct that the x1300 is the sucessor to the x300
post #8 of 53
the x600 has more shaders than an x1400, so you're hard pressed to convice me it's better.
the X600 is generally better performer than the X1400 in nearly everyway posible other one videoplayback performance which might I add is a very minor difference. If I did pick up the 12 inch model then i'll likely grab the 7300 over the x1300

New thread with pictures of this XPS M1210 is posted now, looks like a variant of the upcoming 12" Latitude D420 except with a camera at the top... and HOPEFULLY an optical drive and this "dedicated graphics card".

I loved the 700m, this my be my new system when it ships!

A 12 incher with say, an ATI x1600 would be pretty decent. I never could understand why Dell can't put a decent video card in a smaller laptop.

x1600 would heat it up too much wouldnt it?
X1600 would be impossible to place into a 12" due to heat issues.
Exactly, if they're not going to put a x1600 into a E1505 they sure as hell aren't going to put it in a 12".

How does the ATI X1300 compare with the older Radeon 9600 in laptops? Just curious as to a "ball park figure" on performance differences.
What is its weight? Battery life? Thickness? One knock I have with 700/710m, it could be thinner. I'd like for it to be an inch thick.

Looks very nice:

Glad it doesn't have that 'snapped together' look like many Dell notebooks have.

Slower in most cases than the 9600 Pro tubro that was in the 8600. Faster than the Desktop 9600SE cards but slower than the 9600Pro Cards.

Id reccomend the 7300 over the x1300 when it debuts ONLY if the 7300 isnt a crippled down version.

Are you sure? I thought the X1300 was faster than the 7300, assuming that both are on "equal footing" (meaning both using HM/TC or not)
