Drive question

Hey guys I'm going to get the second drive and bracket for my lappy. From looking in the bios it seems as though it will be seen as the secondary slave.
aka /dev/hddx for fstab and hd3,x for grub. Is this correct or am I halucintaing again. I'm just curios cause I'll be moving my Linux partitions to the new drive and give XP the old drive. Sometimes work sucks like that. Any way I know I'll be having to change fstab and XPs boot loader to play nice. I'm just wondering what it's going to end up as. I may just start over with XP and Gentoo all over. Nah I'm not that big of a sadist. Thanks for looking.

Yes, if it's the secondary slave, then that should be right. You can just use tab completion on the grub command line to check if the drive has the right partition table (i.e. is the right drive).

That's just what I was thinking. Now all I gotta do is get the new drive and go for it. THanks for the confirmation.
