1.67 Ghz Powerbook G4 does not come out of sleep mode

Hi all,

I have a friend with a 15.2" 1.67 Ghz Powerbook G4. It goes to sleep normally (per the Energy Saver options, which look fine). However, it occasionally refuses to come out of suspend mode. We have tried pressing different keys, moving the trackpad, etc. When this problem arises though, the only solution is to manually reboot using the power button.

Any ideas what might be going on?

try resetting the PMU, power management unit. should come up easy w/ a search at the apple site.

why do I have to wait for the chime to reset the PMU?

cuz if u didn't hear them the system isn't rebooting and u'll just boot into OS X.

i have the same problem once and then but it comes out of sleep to just the pointer no logon screen to put in PW ???
