I know this is an old thread, but for the benefit of people purchasing used ones or who still use this one, I'm posting my experience.

My initial experience was bad because I didn't like the behavior of all the default Sony and Microsoft software/features/trials. However, I've since disabled and unistalled what I didn't like. Such as DISCover which launches in the middle of playing games off a CD and the tapping feature on the touch pad, which almost always does things I don't want it to do.

Now, I would say my overall experience is good. I've upgraded it to 2GB with the stock RAM from my MacBook Pro, which I upgraded to 4GB from Mushkin. I'm not sure if it's receiving any benefit from the PC5300 and extra gig vice the 1GB PC4200 stock RAM. I don't really do anything intensive on this machine though, so I won't likely ever notice.

Back to the topic though. Since uninstalling all of that (and installing all of Sony and Microsoft's product updates), I now have a lean mean computing machine. (Note: I also had issues with my original security software from Computer Associates and now use Symantec Client Security with firewall.)

As for gaming, I haven't had any issues with most of my games. However, it won't work with games that require a dedicated video card vice the shared memory used by the FE550G. I found this out when I tried to install the Narnia game.

Last, but not least, hardware problems. I haven't had any.
