MBP and ATI X1600 performance - any issues?

Hi guys,

I came from the ACER TM 8204 which had the ATI X1600 implemented and appeared some strange problems (buzzing, "noise" in the dark colours reproduction or grainy lookalike pictures).

I am planning to buy another workstation from HP (nx9420) or MBP, but cant seem to find out if the X1600 experienced some problems only in ACER or also in other notebooks. MBP is one of the lappies using ATI X1600 so I wanted to ask if it is running smoothly or if there is anything that can point towards some issues that are common for all ATI X1600s..

I don't have a MBP but I haven't heard of any issues. You can also check the Apple Discussion Forums on Apple's website to find out if anyone is having any issues with the video card.

severely underclocked (most companies do the ati spec of 470/470, apple does 310/300) Other than that it runs just fine (it could be what heats up the thing so much, but other than that it runs great)
