That's too much. Find coupons or wait for the same kind of deals we got on Dell canada site now.
Same specs is about $2600 canadian.

edit:Except we only have 1 year warrenty so gota add about $300 to that price I guess.

Holy crap, that's why overpriced.

I got the same system almost but the black version for like 2350. I called them up and they gave me 650 off.

Retail is for suckers.

Basically, call up Dell Small Business sales and haggle with them a little. They hand out $650 discounts with very little effort. Let them know that you're interested in a M1710 but it's a little too pricy at retail; however, you're ready to buy if you can come to a reasonable agreement on price. You can use the fact that "your friend" called the same number and got a $650 discount as leverage if the salesperson tries to blow you off or pawn a lesser deal off on you.

I think Home & Home office reps will discount the price too.

I don't think so, the only reason the small business division does that is because the reps want to be your exclusive dell salesperson for future sales for your business.

So they have an incentive to give you a discount, because of future purchases they can rack up with you. That is not so with HOME.

Well, not fully true as I called Dell home and they gave me a $500 credit off their web price. Call them, as they want sales and will make deals. Plus they upgraded me for free to 4 year ltd. warranty.. Call them, it will save you $. Tell them friends of yours are getting $500 - $650 off and you want that too.

Is that with the 512MB 7900GTX or the 256MB 7900GS? If it's the former then its a rather good deal. I've also ordered one at your price with the 7900GTX.

to my knowledge you call up dell smale biz, and say your are interested in it blah blah, then if they dont give you the $650, but so say 500 or 400, say you know someone that got $650 off and theyll be inclined to give you the discount

Worth it? Not for $3,387.
